Drylands Walkthrough

Thanks to Biolyn from the website Weiphone.com, we now have a solution to beat the Drylands map on Hard Difficulty (Classic mode). This strategy doesn't use the controversial 'tower selling' or 'endless maze' tactic, which some comrades believe is a type of cheat or exploit in the game.

Of course you don't have to follow this guide exactly if you still want a challenge. Here at the Strategy Games HQ, we found it was more fun to use it as a rough guide instead of following it step by step.

  • The grid has been enabled on this map to make it easier to place your towers (Go into you Settings application on the iPhone to activate the grid).
  • Try to place them while paused, this way if you place them in the wrong location you can sell without a penalty.
  • We also try and use the surrounding scenery (flowers, trees) to help guide the placement of the towers. 
  • Watch the current Round at the top of each screenshot to time your building.

Step 1:

Place 2 Gatling Towers

Step 2:

1. Place 1 Gatling Tower
2. Place 1 Gatling Tower
3. Upgrade all towers to max

Step 3:

1. Build 6 Gatling Towers

Step 4:

1. Upgrade all towers to max by round 13

Step 5:

1. Build 7 Gatling Towers, try to build them all at once, or at least from top down.

 

Step 6:

1. Build the highlighted Lightning Tower

Step 7:

1. Build 1 Goo Tower
2. Build 1 Missile Tower

Step 8:

1. Build the highlighted Lightning Tower

Step 9:

1. Build 1 Gatling and 1 Goo Tower
2. Build 1 Gatling Tower
3. Build 1 Gatling and 1 Goo Tower

Step 10:

1. Build the highlighted Lightning Tower

Step 11:

1. Build 1 Missile Tower
2. Build 3 Gatling Towers

Step 12:

1. Build the highlighted Lightning Tower

Step 13:

1. Build 1 Goo Tower
2. Build 1 Gatling Tower
3. Build 6 Gatling Towers
4. Build 1 Gatling Tower
5. Build 1 Goo Tower

Step 14:

1. Build the highlighted Lightning Tower

Step 15:

1. Build 3 Gatling Towers
2. Build 9 Gatling Towers, if possible all at once

Step 16:

1. Upgrade top 3 Lighting Towers to level 2
2. Upgrade left Lightning Tower to level 2
3. Upgrade bottom Lightning Tower to level 2

Step 17:

1. Upgrade Lightning Tower to max
2. Upgrade Lightning Tower to max

Step 18:

1. Build highlighted Lightning Tower
2. Upgrade highlighted Lightning Tower to level 3

Step 19:

1. Upgrade 3 top Lightning Towers to level 3
2. Build 1 Lightning Tower

Step 20:

1. Upgrade highlighted Lightning Tower to level 2

Step 21:

1. Build highlighted Lightning Tower
2. Upgrade highlighted Lightning Tower to level 3

Step 22:

1. Upgrade highlighted Lightning Tower to level 3

Step 23:

1. Upgrade all Goo Towers to max

Step 24:

1. Build highlighted Lightning Tower

Step 25:

1. Build highlighted Lightning Tower

Step 26:

1. Upgrade highlighted Lightning Tower to max

Step 27:

1. Build highlighted Lightning Tower

Step 28:

1. Build 1 Goo Tower and upgrade to max
2. Build 1 Goo Tower and 1 Gatling Tower, upgrade Goo Tower to max
3. Build 1 Goo Tower and 2 Gatling Towers, upgrade Goo Tower to max
4. Build 4 Gatling Towers

1. Upgrade highlighted Lightning Tower to max
