Medieval is part of a new type of iPhone game that combines the tower defense and tank genres with an arcade action feel. The game is fairly simple, but fun. There's no real goal, just an unlimited number of increasingly harder levels, so it can get a bit repetitive once you get past the first 10 levels.
The basic concept is that you control an arrow launcher turret on your castle, and using an array of munitions, try to destroy the enemy castle and their attacking army. You fire by dragging your finger on your turret as if you were pulling back a bowstring, and aim through the same movement (there are other firing options, but they make the game extremely easy). The fun part is having to aim your arrows, decide whether to go for the attacking army or the enemy castle, and upgrade your ammunition options (flame arrows, stones, bombs, etc). You can also recruit units for your army that automatically march across the field towards the enemy.. and are usually quickly killed off. But for only 99 cents, it's worth some quick fun.
