$0.99 - 2D Rockers - - v1.0

  • Graphics and Sound - 3/5
  • Strategy - 4/5
  • Fun - 5/5
  • Re-playability - 4/5
  • Overall - 4/5

Speaking of unique game designs, Into The Blue (like Major Warhead) combines a tower defense genre, RTS and line drawing. The game provides an excellent use of touch controls and builds well upon the established genres. You control a central turret by touching where you would like the turret to fire, as well as ships that you must guide into your base or use to collect resources. Like an RTS, the resources you collect can be used to upgrade your buildings or build additional collectors, but there are no offensive units that you can build. Some missions allow you to build additional turrets to help with the defense of your base.

The game concept and depth are pretty simple, but as a showcase of game design it's a shining example. I can see Into The Blue gaining more popularity once more content and better graphics can be added. For only $0.99, definitely give it a try, it's challenging and will provide a few great hours of fun.

  • Like Flight Control, only with guns!
  • Easy to learn
  • Not much of a story
  • Seems a bit like a beta release
  • Difficulty settings would be great
  • Needs more depth and maps
